NY Times Headline

Well, this headline from the NYT pretty much sums it up.
To More Inmates, Life Term Means Dying Behind Bars - no shit? I've never been an advocate for the death penalty, but I'm definitely for life sentences. A life sentence should mean a life sentence though - and I'm especially for laws which allows juries to stipulate no parole or parole limits. This is just a continuing trend of American culture to create excuses for everything. "Life sentences" sometimes really mean parole after a few years.

In baseball, it appears the White Sox collapse after our visit may have stopped just in time. And today's game in Boston, couldn't help but bring about memories of an MIT frat, some alley rats, and a hotel water hose. A Idylwild reunion in a week? Mitch and I will be home.

And finally, don't play quarters with this guy.

Well, I don't really see the connection between americans making excuses for everything and letting people out of prison, but the former is definitly the main problem with our society today. As for letting people out of prison, if I'm ever sentenced to life I think that it would be nice to still have some glimmer of hope to cling to. The thought of parole would help keep me going. I hope that the White Sox lose btw. And that you all have fun with your MIT frat buddies.

I guess I don't plan to be sentenced to life in prison - maybe you should consider this as an option.
